As our letter of December 22, 2006 to the CBR remains unanswered we repeat as under: A news had appeared in Business Recorder of 25th August, about huge misdeclaration of imported goods. The Customs officials in Karachi are co-operating with importers by enhancing value to show to CBR that they are doing something.
We wrote many times about cosmetics items cleared by Karachi Custom without looking to the actual prices, prevailing in the country of export. But no action has been taken so far. For example, cosmetics from Korea are being sold at a fantastic high prices. You are requested to please look into this matter and try for proper enquiry about such misdeclaration.
