British Airways is to cancel all its flights to and from London's Heathrow airport for two days next week, the airline said Thursday after talks to avoid a cabin crew strike collapsed.
The cancellations next Tuesday and Wednesday, which will also cut domestic and European flights from Gatwick, will cost the airline millions of pounds (euros, dollars), and lead to another bout of travel chaos for passengers.
BA's stewards and stewardesses are protesting over sick leave, pay and staffing conditions. Unions have warned that there will be two more three-day work stoppages in February if the dispute remains unresolved.
