Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has signed a contract with Nadra to provide a Wireless Local Area Network (V-LAN) on its CDMA V WLL Network which will be opera table in entire Pakistan.
Through this wireless data connectivity Nadra will be able to perform registration of individuals with their Mobile Registration Vehicles (MRV) which can directly go to the doorstep of people in every nook and corner.
On the occasion of signing ceremony Nafees Siddiqui EVP (Ops) South said that PTCL had latest telecommunication technology and was ready to face the challenges ahead and the focus was to provide the best telecommunication facilities to the public and corporate customers at competitive rates.
He further said that this joint venture would greatly enhance the capabilities of both the partners to serve the people of Pakistan and would facilitate them with quality of service, which would be at par with the modern telecom standards. Due to this technology Nadra would be able to put bill payment machines (BPM) whenever wherever required to facilitate the masses, he added.
Through this customised connectivity, which would be provided by PTCL on its VPhone data network Nadra could facilitate the law enforcement agencies to directly access their centralised database from within their vehicles. And in the later stage even the registration numbers of the vehicle could be verified by using this network once the database would be available.
Brigadier Abid Hyder Kazmi Director General Nadra thanked PTCL for its technical assistance and providing latest technology and said that this would be a great step of Nadra towards par excellence of providing latest registration facility to the people of remote areas of Pakistan at their door step.
