All operational circles, divisions and sub-divisions of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) have been asked to carry out a massive recovery campaign from power consumers of their respective areas.
Manager commercial Hesco, Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah said here that Hesco recovery staff has so far recovered Rs 165 million from the defaulters and disconnected 2,481 power connections of domestic consumers as well as public and private departments.
The major dues recovery campaign is being carried out on the directives of Chief Executive Hesco Maqbool Ahmed Khawaja. I will continue till accomplishment of the task, he further said. Manager Commercial said the recovery staff has however, been asked not to disconnect the power connections of Imambargahs, places of religious gatherings as well as vital civic supplies.
The Manager Commercial Hesco said the Manager Operation Circle-I Hesco Hyderabad Habibullah Khilji and the Deputy Commercial Manager Mehmood Qaimkhani held meeting with Director General Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) Altaf Memon in connection with outstanding dues of Rs 276.5 million, which piled up against Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA).
During negotiations for payment of outstanding dues, the Director General HDA requested for grant of time so that the provincial government could be contacted for release of necessary grant.
Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah made it clear that except the installations of civic facilities all connections will remain discontinued till the recovery of outstanding dues as despite repeated requests to Sindh Government, the Hesco management has still not received its outstanding arrears against the provincial government departments.
