The government of Pakistan on Saturday announced the appointment of Major General Ghazanfar Ali Khan (Retd) as Ambassador to Ukraine. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Curriculum Vitae of Major General Ghazanfar Ali Khan (Retd) is as under: He holds degree of M.Sc. (War Studies), Graduate of Command and Staff College, Quetta, War College France, National Defence College, Islamabad and also attended Technical Staff Course at College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of Pakistan.
Experience: Commanded infantry battalion, brigade and division. Employed as instructor at Command and Staff College for a period of two years. Served on various staff appointments ie Deputy Chief of the General Staff and Vice Chief of the General Staff at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi. Director General Munitions Production, Ministry of Defence Production (two years) and Military Secretary to the President of Pakistan (five years).
Awards: Awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) for 37 years meritorious service in the Army. The government on Saturday also announced the appointment of Mohammad Younis Khan, senior diplomat, as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Muhammad Younis Khan, who holds a Masters Degree in Economics, joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 22, 1974 and has held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Missions abroad including Madrid (1980-84), Addis Ababa (1986), Nairobi (1987-90), Geneva (1990-93) and Moscow (1995-98). Muhammad Younis Khan has also served as Ambassador of Pakistan to Hanoi (2000-2003) and to Baghdad (2005). Presently he is serving as Director General at Headquarters since September 6, 2005. He is married.
