As many as 20,000 copies of Holy Quran in the Kyrgyz language have been donated to Kyrgyz Republic by Ministry of Religious Affairs. The copies of the Holy Quran worth $70,000 were handed over through Embassy of Pakistan, Bishkek, official sources said on Saturday.
Grand Mufti, Murataly Haji Jumanov, the Deputy Speaker and Members of the Parliament and other scholars have appreciated the Pakistan Government for this donation.
The Grand Mufti said it was for the first time that the translation of the Holy Book had been rendered directly in the Kyrgyz language from the Arabic text in three colours. While all the previous translations of the Holy Quran in the Kyrgyz language were made from languages other than Arabic text, including Russian or Uzbek translations.
Therefore, Ministry of Religious Affairs Pakistan has made the history by printing a large number of copies of this translation, he said. These dignitaries, while speaking in a conference of the women organised by Mutakalim, an Islamic Association of Kyrgyz women, profusely praised this philanthropic gesture of Pakistan.
The high profile religious gesture of Pakistan was so extensively appreciated that the organisers video-filmed the distribution of Quran in the said Conference.
