Punjab government's instructions regarding strict enforcement of Muharram security plan, are being implemented in letter and spirit with the collaboration of religious leaders elected representatives, district administration and police, in the district.
This was stated by the District Coordination Officer (DCO) while talking to newsmen on Sunday. He said peaceful atmosphere was the basic prerequisite for smooth socio-economic development and district government was committed to uphold peaceful traditions of the district.
He said an utmost vigilance was being kept so that no one could dare to jeopardise the tranquil and peaceful atmosphere of the district.
He said, the Ulema and religious leaders belonging to all schools of thoughts provided their maximum cooperation for promoting harmony and unity among the people and district government gave full support to their proposals and suggestions for maintenance of law and order.
All the Tehsil and Union councils Nazims in the district had already been asked to keep close coordination with Ulema and notables of their respective areas for effectiveness, of Muharram peace plan, he added. He stated that district government was also taking necessary steps for ensuring sanctity of Muharram-ul-Haram.
