Admissions in archaeology

Punjab University department of Archaeology, established two years ago, has shown performance and geared up to serve the purpose of archaeology, said Dr Farzand Masih, Chairman of the department here on Sunday.
He said initially diploma classes were started here, but later in December 2004 on the instruction of Vice Chancellor Arshad Mahmood it was upgraded to Masters level. Masters in the Archaeology is consisting of four semesters with 22 subjects, he added. Giving details of the department, he averred further that there were total 26 seats for admission in which 20 were allocated on merit, three on self-finance and one each was reserved for teachers, employees son and disabled. He pointed out that the eligibility for admission in the department was graduation.
