The secretary general of People's Party Parliamentarians (PPP) Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said on Sunday that the elections of president of Pakistan from the present assemblies would be violation of law and Constitution.
In his telephonic address at the Chakwal Press Club, he informed that if the presidential elections were contested from the present assemblies, the country would be in deep crisis as the people of Pakistan are mentally prepared for the forthcoming General Election therefore government should make preparation for free, fair and impartial election.
He said that if hurdles were made in holding transparent election people not only would reject this exercise but they would also resist it strongly and added that transfer of power to the real elected representatives of the people is the need of the hour.
Ashraf also foresee a very significant impact on Pakistan politics when American President George Bush had a meeting with Benazir Bhutto on February 1st.
He said that Benazir Bhutto was an international personality and she had the privilege to address various Americans and European Universities and invitation of American president for a meeting to Benazir Bhutto was a very positive effort for the revival of democracy in Pakistan.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf further told that the present political vacuum in the country would only be fulfilled after the return of Benazir Bhutto and other political leaders that were staying outside the country therefore Government should make some serious efforts to bring back these leaders into Pakistan.
Replying to a question Raja Pervaiz Ashraf declared that Pakistan Peoples Party was still the biggest political force of the country and it would sweep the polls whenever transparent elections held.
