The DCO Hyderabad Muhammad Hussain Syed has said District Government Hyderabad has decided to organise its second annual but an impressive Flower Exhibition at Hyderabad in the first week of March 2007 with a view to provide social and recreational opportunities to the people of Hyderabad.
This he decided while presiding over a meeting regarding organising Flower Exhibition at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building Hyderabad on Thursday.
Addressing the meeting, the DCO Hyderabad Muhammad Hussain Syed said the purpose of this exhibition was not only to provide social and recreational facilities but also to educate the people specially youngsters about the importance and nurturing of flowers and other plants.
He said flowers and plants have important role in up-gradation of healthy and pleasant environment. He said this flower exhibition would be converted into competitive exhibition and successful participants would be awarded with prizes. He said scope of exhibition has been increased this year and now in addition to nurseries and growers of flowers, all the government, semi-government, autonomous bodies and institutions of private sectors have been invited to participate.
Besides, gardening in private houses has also been included in the competition. He said due to having different capacity of different participating organisations, competitions have been bifurcated in different categories and each category would get three prizes and added that a special prize would be given to the best stall of school in public sector.
Muhammad Hussain also formed different committees including site and exhibition committees headed by Director Building Control HDA Nadeem Ahmed, Transport Committee headed by Technical Officer HDP Fahim Junejo, Security Committee headed by DPO Hyderabad or his nominee, reception and lodging and boarding committee headed by EDO Abdul Sattar Jatoo(Retd), Award Committee headed by Dr Abid.
Ali Director Seri Culture Sindh and assigned targets of relevant works to each committee. He also directed them to complete their tasks given to them and submit him report in details within two weeks. He directed the heads and members of the committees to ensure availability of water, sand, tents at the exhibition site and provide full security and transport facilities to the participants of the exhibition.
He also directed them to arrange puppet show, stalls of handicraft. The DCO also asked the EDO Agriculture to arrange documentary show on flowers, availability of different seeds with informative literature at the exhibition so that people could get themselves aware and purchase the seed for their private gardening.
The EDO Agriculture Shahabuddin Siddiqui, DO Forest Habibullah Nizamani, Director Sericulture Dr Abid Ali, EDO Education Professor Anwar Ahmed, EDO CDD Shafaatullah Uner, Principal Public School Abbas Raza Abbasi, flower grower Choudhri Zulfiqar Ahmed, representatives of various Nurseries, Government, Semi Government and Autonomous Bodies attended the meeting.
