The NWFP Environment Department has decided to re-employee all those ex-employees of the Social Forestry Project whose services had been terminated due to closure of the project. It has further decided that such employees would be at liberty either to get re-employed or proceeding on pension.
The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting held at the Civil Secretariat, Peshawar under the chairmanship of Minister for Environment and Finance Shah Raz Khan on Friday.
The minister said the MMA-led provincial government was taking concrete measures for the protection of environment. Due to their successful strategy the forest-covered area had increased in the province, he added.
