Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Secretary General and leader of opposition in National Assembly, Fazlur-Rehman has said that single party cannot take decision about boycotting assembly session, and added that all decisions would be taken from MMA platform.
Talking to newsmen after JUI Shura meeting on Sunday, he said that all allied parties are bound to follow MMA 's decisions, and any single party could not take any decision.
He said that a decision about participating in the assembly proceedings would be taken from Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal platform, and added that any member party could give its suggestions to the alliance if anyone has objection.
Fazl said that Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal was united and would remain intact, as the Ummah wanted, and it would continue struggle against dictatorship.
About 'all parties conference', he said that at the moment it was in proposal process but there are efforts to unite the opposition to play its role for removal of dictatorship.
He noted that the Chief Election Commissioner had advised President Pervez Musharraf not to attend Pakistan Muslim League (Q) public gatherings and not to preside over its meetings, but he did not pay heed to it and presided over the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) meeting in uniform the following day.
The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Secretary General described President Musharraf's measures as major setback for democracy.
He suggested that it was necessary for 'real democracy' that Election Commission should independent, like India, and high officials, including President and Prime Minister, should obey its decisions.
He claimed that there is no real democracy, and an individual is taking decisions, which are against the country's interests. He added that Pakistan's future was linked with democracy, and not with dictatorship.
He said that it was in the interest of the country that President Musharraf should not take part in next presidential election.
