The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced the very successful completion of the post-Haj Operations on Sunday. With this, the entire Haj Operation, both pre and post, was completed flawlessly, says a PIA press release. The post-Haj Operations registered 79 percent punctuality and a regularity of 97 percent was to the entire satisfaction of the Hujjaj.
The few nominal delays were entirely due to reasons beyond the airlines control, such as immigration, weather, etc. The total Hujjaj carried by the PIA to the Holy Land and back numbered a massive 2,60,000 satisfied Hujjaj. The Haj Coordination Cells set up at Jeddah and in the domestic departing and arriving airports functioned smoothly and to the full satisfaction of the Hujjaj.
The PIA, had earlier, provided Ahram to the male Hauls and Abaya with scarf to the female Hajjaj as gifts from PIA, besides Hajj books.
This successful operation was despite the fact that the winter months of November to January are peak seasons for PIA and the weather conditions are also not favourable for the airlines. However, the PIA managed to make the Haj Operations successful.
A total of 1,30,000 Hujjaj were transported back home to Pakistan in both dedicated and scheduled flights of PIA in a total of 362 flights, compared to earlier Haj operations this has been the most smooth and successful Haj operation ever.-PR
