The Namaz-e-Janaza of Abdul Ghafoor, elder brother of Hafiz Abdul Sattar, Admin Officer of Aaj Television Lahore office, who was assassinated on Saturday, was offered at Shadaraha Town here, on Sunday evening. He was 38.
A large number of people from different walks of life, including journalists, attended the funeral. He was laid to rest at the Jiyamosa graveyard amid the tears of hundreds of his friends, relatives and colleagues.
His Qul would be held on Monday (today) at his residence, Shadaraha Town Jiayamosa, after the Fajr prayer.
It is pertinent to mention here that Abdul Ghafoor was murdered by two armed men, Abdul Waheed and his accomplice over a minor dispute, on Saturday, February 03, 2007. Abdul Ghafoor left behind a widow and three minor daughters to mourn his death.
The staff of Aaj Television and Business Recorder have shown great sense of sorrow and grief over the sad death of the Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor and demanded of the Chief Minister, Punjab, for early arrest of the culprits and awarding them punishment according to the law.
