The district police arrested 158 proclaimed offenders and 125 absconders during the month of January 2007. In a press briefing, DPO Kasur Syed Ahmed Mobeen said that 164 persons were arrested for allegedly possessing illegal weapons, 81 were arrested for dealing in narcotics and recovered 2.325 kg heroin, 6.255 kg hashish and 25 bottles of liquor from them.
The police apprehended 19 criminals of five inter-district gangs and allegedly recovered stolen/looted goods worth over Rs 3.4 million from them, he added.
