Fifteen persons were killed, while two dozen injured in various road accidents. In first accident, three persons, including a woman, were killed and five others sustained injuries in an accident on Rajana Road, Samundri. According to details, a wagon carrying commuters was on its way to Chak 481-GB when it collided with a stationary trolley laden with sugarcane.
Resultantly, Jamila Bibi, Muhammad Hanif and Khalil Ahmad of Chak 481-GB died on the spot while Javed of Chak 477-GB, Sher Mohammad, Zafar Iqbal, Surraya and Safia of Chak 481-GB received injuries.
All the injured were shifted to hospital and condition of two was stated to be critical in Allied Hospital. The wagon driver managed to escape.
In second accident, five children among eight devotees of a family lost their lives and eight others suffered serious injuries in a head-on collision between an air-conditioned coach and a Wagon near Aliabad district Jhang.
According to details, a wagon, carrying devotees of a family, was on its way to Jhang from Hazrat Sultan Bahu shrine when it rammed an air-conditioned coach coming from the opposite direction. Resultantly, driver Zahid, Saleh Bibi, Sajida, Aansa 6, Asghar 5, Kalsum 8, Laiba1 and six-month-old Sajjad Ali, all residents of Jhang, died on the spot while Naseer Ahmed, Rafaqat, Usman Ali, Asia, Basharat, Afzal and minor Nadia received critical injuries.
The injured were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital Jhang and Allied Hospital Faisalabad where condition of six persons including a woman stated to be critical.
In third accident, a dying Master of Textile Processing Mills of Maqbool road was killed on the spot, when a donkey cart collided with his motorcycle in Qadria Chowk Peoples Colony Faisalabad. Two other persons crushed to death in other accidents.
