KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Muhammad Zubair was sworn in as the 32nd Governor of Sindh on Thursday in a ceremony underway at the Governor House here.
Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court (SHC), Syed Sajjad Ali Shah administered the oath to Muhammad Zubair at the ceremony.
The appointment of new governor came after the shortest-serving Sindh governor Justice (retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui passed away last month.
Zubair is the brother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar.
He holds a master's degree in business administration from Karachi's Institute of Business Administration (IBA), where he was elected to the Board of Directors in 1980 as a student representative and also taught Financial Management from 1981-1986.
Prior to serving as chairman of the Privatization Commission, Zubair was chairman of the Board of Investment from July to December 2013.
