Grain exports from the French port of Rouen totalled 712,924 tonnes in January, comprising 614,530 tonnes of wheat and 98,394 tonnes of barley, port officials said on Tuesday. Grain exports in January last year totalled 536,000 tonnes, comprising 496,000 tonnes of wheat and 40,000 tonnes of barley.
Officials said three vessels were in port on Tuesday, loading 34,000 tonnes of wheat for Italy and West Africa, and 9,500 tonnes of barley for Morocco. Six other vessels were expected by February 11 to load 101,500 tonnes of wheat and 47,000 tonnes of barley for an unspecified destination.
