Mahira Khan finally joined her 'Raees' co-stars at a press conference in Mumbai, via video call.
This was the first time the actress promoted her Bollywood debut in India. The entire cast and crew including Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and producer Ritesh Sidhwani joined the Pakistani actress in a live press conference.
She seemed super happy to finally be interacting with Indian media. More than that, she was ecstatic that she got to promote the film with her co-stars, even if it were through internet. So, while she answered all the questions asked by media, she also reacted to some really tricky questions.
While reacting to uplifting the ban on Bollywood movies in Pakistan, she said, "You have no idea how much we wanted to get films back here. Raees is a big one. I was getting calls every day. Everyone's waiting. You can't even imagine. If you were here you would see how many calls I get asking is it coming. So I think just like its done well all over the world, hopefully, they will go in storms to watch it".
Mahira Khan was also asked to compare Shah Rukh Khan with Fawad Khan as she has worked with both the actors, to which she said, "My first couple of work was with Fawad. He is really lovely. But at no point I was in awe of Fawad. He is a great co-actor. I still get his calls. With him (points at srk) I think to compare both of them would be so wrong".
Being a big fan of SRK, Mahira enjoyed every moment being on set and revealed that King Khan spoiled me a lot.
On landing in Mumbai for the first time Mahira laughed and shared, "When I reached the Mumbai Airport, I thought I'd be greeted by Shah Rukh running towards me, with his arms open. But that didn't happen. After I signed Raees, We were doing a photo shoot. I was told Shah Rukh is here. So, I quickly ran out and it was hi-hello. He told me you will be okay. After sometime I thought that wind would start blowing and there would be leaves falling all around but nothing of that sort happened. Rather, I'm the only heroine he did not spread his arms for". SRK too quipped, "Your size is small I did pick you up in a song".
While Nawazuddin who was also part of the conference said he wishes he had more scenes with Mahira. "I wanted to be a part of the Zaalima song just to have some more scenes with her." he joked.
