With the advent of spring Basant festivals became the buzzword across the country. Lahore has traditionally been the focal point but Karachi, Pakistan's largest metropolis has of late also seen mega-events organised for Basant.
One such festival on Sunday, 25th February, which attracted over 5,000 people from all over the city was the Jashan-e-Baharan sponsored by UBL Cards Division. The participants included members of the Karachi Gymkhana and their families as well as invitees of UBL who kept coming throughout the day but the gathering peaked afternoon onwards.
Atif Bukhari, President of UBL, and Taqi Iqbal, President of Karachi Gymkhana jointly inaugurated the event. A number of exciting activities including acting competitions, singing, lucky draws, a jumping castle, and, of course, kite-flying drew in lots of people particularly the youth who enjoyed it to their best.-PR
