The Swiss franc strengthened against the euro but held largely flat against the dollar early on Tuesday ahead of a speech by designated Swiss National Board member Thomas Jordan. Markets will scrutinise Jordan's speech later in the day for any signs that the SNB stands ready to speed up its campaign of gradual interest rate increases.
The franc was near flat at 1.2298 per dollar, close to its highest level in almost two months. Against the euro, the franc was 0.17 percent higher at 1.6192 per euro, pulling back from an 8-year low of 1.6293 hit last week.
