The government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) will build a new hospital in the federal capital to provide best health services to the citizens. Secretary Health Syed Anwar Mahmood said while addressing the ceremony held here on Thursday to hand over two staff buses to the administration of Federal Government Services Hospital (polyclinic).
He said the government has offered land at National Institute of Health (NIH) at Chak Shahzad for the constructions of the hospital in reply of UAE's offer.
He said after the construction of new hospital at Chak Shahzad people living in the nearby areas will get better health facilities close to their residence as now they have to go to Pims and polyclinic for treatment. The Secretary Health announced that five new dispensaries will also be set up in different areas of the federal capital and funds have been allocated for this purpose.
The designing work of the project has been started and tenders will be opened soon. He said one each dispensary will be set up in Sectors G and I.
He said the ministry would also try to increase the strength of existing staff at Mother and Childcare centre Aabpara and G-7 dispensary. He added the ministry has already provided medical equipment to the MCH to improve its standard. He said the government is implementing expansion plan of Pims and polyclinic to provide better medical services to the masses.
He added that work would soon be started on renovation of OPD at polyclinic and to be completed within six months. Anwar Mahmood announced that the ministry is taking step to make polyclinic a teaching hospital and for this purpose notification will be issued soon.
