The Training and Organisation Development Department has been active right from its inception in the year 2000 in maintaining a close contact with the employees. Training plans are made annually and are broken into quarters for quick review and implemented accordingly.
Various departments of the company provide openings for effective learning under skilful supervision while providing room for an employee's self-development through the provision of professional literature, workshops, group discussions and seminars.
NEW INITIATIVES:
-- Training need analysis twice a year, introduced since 2001.
-- Identification of training needs for each individual, especially fast-track employees at the start of each year.
-- Special emphasis on management and employee development.
-- Enhanced thrust on computer literacy to meet the challenges of computer-based management systems. Not only IT training is provided to ensure computer literacy at all levels of employees but also the focus is on the new environment of an ERP era.
-- Formal orientation program for new employees introduced in HR induction system.
-- Specially-designed training for technical and operations staff at all installations, including very intensive technical training.
-- Development of lubricants field force through learning workshops and futuristic workshops with PSO distributors.
-- For acquiring specialised skills, the company also nominates management employees for training abroad with international training institutions.
-- Post-training evaluation analysis introduced for the first time.
-- Emphasis is placed on customer-focused sales training for our sales staff and the supervisors at petrol stations with greater significance on product knowledge and personal grooming.
-- As part of delivering better customer services, a specially designed training program called The WOW Experience was designed and introduced to deliver customer service par excellence. More than 25,000 training inputs were provided to forecourt staff through external and internal resources throughout Pakistan.
