Industrial Consumer Department (IC) caters to POL requirements of a wide spectrum of customers comprising various industrial units, strategic clients, government accounts and power projects.
The quest for excellence and endeavours to provide superior services and products to its customers has become a trademark of PSO in recent years and the Industrial Consumer Department has been living up to this motto in the true spirit.
A well-established network of 33 depots/installations and seven fully operational ISO 9001:2000-certified divisional offices and a head-office provide PSO-IC a greater market depth and enable us to offer superior product and services to our customers from Karachi to the far-flung areas such as Gilgit - a feat that is unmatched by any local or international OMC in Pakistan.
PSO IC dominance in the government sector can be judged by the fact that all the major government entities like OGDC, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Railways, Navy, NLC, POF Wah, and HIT have entrusted PSO to meet their POL needs.
Commercial power sector is another area where PSO-IC commands thumping market supremacy. With a major share of over 80% in furnace oil market, PSO is the sole furnace oil supplier to all the IPPs in Pakistan besides supplying fuel to national power utilities like WAPDA and KESC.
Such exceptional market leadership could have never been realised without sincere efforts and considerable investment of time and capital by Team PSO. Specific furnace oil storage and dispensing facilities were developed at various locations all over Pakistan to specifically meet the huge demand for power sector customers, which again surpasses the level of services offered by any other OMC in the country.
PSO-IC's commercial potency is not restricted to the government and power sector alone but is equally spread over other industrial units like textile, cement, sugar, agriculture, transport, etc. The clientele also includes prestigious entities like the Presidency and the Prime Minister Secretariat, where PSO has developed consumer outlets for timely refuelling of their commercial fleet.
The department has been on the forefront in participating in development and civil infrastructure works in the country and has partnered with companies like the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and Descon Engineering to accomplish and boost such projects of national interest.
Despite severe competitive market conditions, PSO-IC has not only managed to retain its market edge but has also expanded its business over the years. The department is moving ahead in its quest for greater achievements with the same dedication and zeal.
