A five-member full bench of the supreme court has ordered NWFP government to give admission to Arif Shah, son of Momin Shah, in Khyber Medical College, Peshawar and pay him compensation of Rs 100,000 for ignoring his merit and subjecting him to unnecessary litigation.
Arif Shah son of a watchman secured 785 marks in F. Sc. Examination 2004-05 and applied for admission in the Khyber Medical College Peshawar on seats reserved for less developed areas. The Khyber Medical College and the NWFP health ministry ignored his application and instead gave admission to three other boys.
