Ban on landmines demanded

Religious scholars and speakers in a seminar at Sheikh Zaid Islamic Centre, University of Peshawar have demanded the world-wide ban on landmines, as it was a great threat to human beings. The speakers also underscored the need for collective efforts in this regard, in order to diminish the miseries of the landmines.
The seminar was jointly organised by Sustainable Peace and Development Organisation (Spado) and University of Peshawar on Wednesday. They were of the view that religious scholars have great role to play in almost every matter of daily life and they should not be confined only to worship related matters.
