The Karachi Port handled 68,179 tonnes cargo including 57,338 tonnes import, 10,841` tonnes export cargo and 4,034 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 52,075 tonnes dry cargo including 38,883 tonnes general cargo; 1,945 tonnes rice; 4,247 tonnes cement; 7,000 tonnes coal and 16,104 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Apl Shenzhen, CSAV Ningbo, Y M Faha and Iron Butterfly sailed out to sea during the report period. Seven vessels viz Alex-D, Hyundai Advance, Y M Faha, Pu He, Iran Shahryar, Ikal and Asari are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely M.T. Swat, Pacific Arrow, Pu He and Iran Shahryar expected to sail on Thursday, while two vessels viz Victoria and Ikal are expected to sail on Friday. Four vessels viz Chemstar Brave, Perka, Mol Silver Fern and Conti Esperance due to arrive on Thursday, while six ships namely Orient Independence, Sp 5-Eric G Gibson, Corinthiakos, Red Sea Spirit and Oriental Sun are due to arrive on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 22,900 tonnes furnace oil; 14,477 tonnes coal and 345 tonnes wheat. One ship namely M.T. Al-Salam-II sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another vessel viz M.V. Denden is expected to sail on Thursday. A total of two ships namely Stella and Jebel Ali are currently at the outer anchorage.
One vessel viz M.V. Jebel Ali due to take berth on Thursday. M.T. Eships Cobia due to arrive on Thursday, while four more vessels viz C.V. Maersk Arkansas, C.V. Sima Paya, C.V. MSC Aurora and M.V. Captain George-L with containers and iron ore are due to arrive on Friday.
