Singapore bunker prices rose on Thursday, while the differential to cargo values jumped to $6-$7 a tonne amid tight supplies, traders said. Prices for 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel were pegged at $301-$303 a tonne, while its differential to fuel oil cargoes jumped to $6.50 a tonne premium, up from $5.25 at the previous close.
"Sellers are selling at high prices...I am staying out of the market," one bunker trader said. Singapore fuel oil stocks fell 534,000 barrels from the previous week to 10.46 million barrels, ahead of Western inflows. Ex-wharf cargoes were done around $306-$308, another trader said.
