City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has said the city government is taking all possible steps to provide job opportunities to women and youth. Around 30,000 youths will be provided jobs in IT Tower as city government also spending a huge amount to impart training of call centres in the city.
Initially 2,000 candidates will be trained for call centres on which city government will spend Rs 60,000 on each person, he said while addressing in a 2-day Pakistan's first international ICDD (Information, communication technology for development) conference at a local hotel on Friday. The conference was organised by Saleem Akhter Memorial Foundation in which delegates from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and China also participated.
Mustafa Kamal said the city government with the collaboration of foreign company under the public/private partnership constructing a 47-story IT Tower, which will be a biggest project in the country. He said in this tower all facilities related to call centres would be available in which 30,000 youths will be granted jobs. In this regard, the city government had started the training programme for call agents in which initially 2,000 people will be trained including 50 percent female, he said.
