Bollywood ace director and socialite Karan Johar has inspired many through his films, bold and unapologetic revelations about his life, friends, colleagues and most importantly his identity in his biography 'An Unsuitable Boy'. A US-based news website New York Times has paid a vast tribute to the Bollywood director in their featured article.
They wrote, "As I watched the producer among his friends, now a star lovingly nurtured, now a hero, aging but handsome, I became acutely aware of his solitude. He is of that generation that came of sexual age maybe five or 10 years before the freedoms of this recent time burst upon us".
The Times also speaks about how KJo deals with his sexuality in a conservative society like India. They wrote, "An ocean of innuendo has always surrounded Mr. Johar's sexuality. He has done more than anybody to introduce the idea of homosexuality into the Indian home. It would seem no closet door was better primed to spring open than his. And yet when he tries the latch, he finds it sticks".
The magazine also talked about the way Karan Johar explored gay factor in his films be it Dostana, Bombay Talkies or Kapoor & Sons.
KJo has recently released a biography and was as candid as possible about himself in the book.
