Federal Minister for Commerce Humayun Akhtar Khan has said that All Parties Conference (APC) by the opposition would prove a futile exercise. Speaking to journalists during an Umra ticket-giving ceremony here on Sunday.
The minister avoided the reply to a query regarding Supreme Court Chief Justice Ifthikar Chaudhry and said Supreme Judicial Council would deliberate the issue and its decision must be respected.
Speaking about the performance of the present government, Humayun said that besides having affective foreign policy, development endeavours taken by it were now yielding results and making the economy of the country stronger.
He said this performance of the present government was widely recognised by economists and other experts, he added.
The minister speaking about political situation averred that assemblies would complete their tenure, 'This would be not a small achievement in the parliamentary history of the country', he pointed out.
Humayun referring to record development endeavour by the present government stated that this would strengthen point of their party in the forthcoming elections.
He said steps taken in the field of education, health, welfare of the people, agriculture and building of water reservoirs were the hall mark of present government achievements.
The minister said that while the government was practically involved in betterment effort of the country, opposition was involved in making false slogans and involved in baseless shouting campaign, he added.
