Formal talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan jirga leaders will start on Monday in which different matters would be discussed to further smoothen the relations between both countries. The Afghan Jirga Commission, headed by Chairman Pir Syed Ahmed Gillani, arrived here on Saturday on a three-day official visit.
Interior Minister and Chairman Pakistan Jirga Commission Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao warmly received the members of Afghan Jirga. After holding a brief discussion with the visiting Jirga the minister said that Pakistan wanted a durable peace in Afghanistan.
"Stability in Afghanistan is linked with the regional progress and prosperity," a press release quoted him as saying. Secretary Interior Syed Kamal Shah, Additional Secretary Imtiaz Qazi, Afghan embassy officials and others were also present on the occasion.
