Federal Minister for Political Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam on Sunday announced a package of Rs45 million for gas supply and provision of power feeders in Mingora city. On the part of Federal government he also announced a sum of Rs 1,00,000 for each victim family who suffered casualties when a number of houses collapsed in Mingora.
Addressing a huge public meeting here the minister said that work on Astroturf in Saidu Sharif Hockey stadium would start at the cost of Rs 30 million.
He said the Federal government was implementing a number of development projects in all the districts of NWFP through a uniform policy. Referring to these projects, he said construction work on Kalam-Khwazakhela-Bisham road at the cost of Rs 5 billion would start next month.
He said that Pakistan Muslim League was gaining tremendous strength in NWFP due to its public friendly policies and would sweep the next general elections with massive public support.
He said: "We hold Ulema in great esteem but we cannot allow those persons, who are misusing the name of religion for the sake of their own interests."
Criticising MMA policies he said their steps were motivated by personal likes and dislikes. He said politics of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto had been reached to their final doom as they did nothing but plundered national exchequer.
He said Awami National Party role had been reduced to only hollow slogans as it was trying to beguile masses of the province with false claims to secure their true identity.
