SHARJAH: Lahore Qalandars smashed the first double ton of the tournament scoring 200 for the loss of just three wickets against Quetta Gladiators in the 11th encounter of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 here at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

The opening pair of Jason Roy and new find Fakhar Zaman took full advantage of the batting friendly Sharjah pitch and some loose bowling by Gladiators to post 75 in the first six overs. Roy made 51 off 27 hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Zaman remained three short of his first half-century scoring 47 in 32 deliveries with 6 fours and a six.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan and Delport finished off the Qalandar inning remaining unbeaten on 46 (28) and 35 (21) respectively.

Young Hassaan Khan was impressive again grabbing two wickets for 28 while Zulfiqar Babar took one for the same number of runs for Gladiators.

Gladiators had won the toss and elected to field first against Qalandars earlier today.

Sarfraz Ahmed's Gladiators clashed with Brendon McCullum led Lahore Qalandars in Dubai last week, winning the encounter by 8 runs.

The match was dominated by prominent performances from Gladiators batsman Rilee Rossouw, young all-rounder Hasan Khan and brief but quickfire cameos by McCullum and opener Jason Roy.
