Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) and Siemens Pakistan Engineering Co Ltd signed a contract for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of diesel generator sets for the pumping stations at North Nazimabad Town, New Karachi Town and Orangi Town having a mixture of 1250 kVA, 500 kVA and 350 kVA generating sets for backup power supply.
The project will cost approximately Rs 75 million and is envisaged to be completed by October, 2007. Iftikhar Ahmed, Managing Director, KW&SB, and Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui, MD and CEO of Siemens Pakistan, signed the contract in the presence of chief guest, Syed Mustafa Kamal, City Nazim of Karachi.
Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui speaking on the occasion reiterated Siemens' commitment to continue to participate aggressively in such development project in Karachi. He also stressed that Siemens like always will endeavour to complete the project maintaining the quality of product and service that has become synonymous with its name.
City Nazim Mustafa Kamal while appreciating Siemens' active participation in different projects emphasised the need of early completion of this very vital project which is essential to cater to the needs of the growing metropolis.-PR
