It is a universal veracity that no society can survive without a literate moderation. Nevertheless education is the most decisive ingredient that nurtures the society towards success and moderation.
Despite the Government's memorandums no such effective measures have been taken in the education sector to make its foundation vigorous. If asked the same view to the officials, they would respond by comparing the present reforms to that of the past governments. Who doesn't know about the loyalty of the past official looters? Indeed it is null and void for us to compare ourselves with complete failure and be hilarious.
A single literate province (Punjab) is doing no wonders for this nation. There is still a lot that needs to be done to facilitate the students of the whole country. It is necessary for the Government to direct all the universities incorporating in the country to make such policies that would attract and nudge students to acquire education. For instance, Germany provides free education up till PhD to its students.
Unfortunately, our students, after their intermediate level education, have very few options for higher studies. It is almost impossible for every student to get into a relatively reputable government university due to the fact that there are very limited universities and seats. The reputable government universities do not have sufficient seats to accommodate all the students passing out every year. As a consequence, students move towards private universities that are not only expensive but also have a cheap curriculum. None of the private university is owned by educationist.
In fact the private universities are governed by industrialists. Therefore, the private universities have very stringent policies that discourage students to acquire higher education. A middle class family cannot afford the expenses of private universities. At last, with no other option left for students they either drop out or normally enroll with the external programme of government universities. The market does not have opportunities for these deprived students.
Hence their dreams are exhausted before their professional careers begin. In all other sectors also we have made double standards even in our education system and to worsen the situation our investors can't wait to flood their money in any one sector, may it be real estate, stock market or education.
The government must play an effective role to rescue the education system of the country. Educational structure should not be developed for investment purposes. Its only primary goal must be spreading quality education and introduce future leaders with strong foundation.
