The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has issued the following press release on Saturday: "The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) takes serious exception to the press release issued by the Karachi Commerce and Industry (KCCI) expressing indecent language against the President of FPCCI, who is heading invariably all its subsidiary bodies.
"As a matter of record, the KCCI did not issue the press release on factual basis. The President FPCCI as a part of the official entourage of the Prime Minister visited Uzbekistan when the protocols were signed in the presence of the Prime Ministers of both the countries.
"On the occasion of the signing ceremony, among others, the Vice President of KCCI was also present when the names of the President of FPCCI and the President of Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry were announced to sign the protocol.
"The President FPCCI was obliged to do so as the President of the National Chamber of Pakistan vis-à-vis the President of the National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Uzbekistan.
"It is further clarified that the FPCCI is fully competent to sign protocols with its counterpart organisation ie National Chamber of Commerce & Industry of any country. However, FPCCI fully supports its constituent bodies within their domain ie signing of protocols with city chambers of any country.
"In this case, while false misconceived allegations have been made by the KCCI, the FPCCI would take proactive approach to deal with the matter, which would enhance the respect of business community of Pakistan."-PR
