An amount of Rs 5 million is being spent on the execution of 18 different developmental schemes aimed at conservation of shrines and mosques administered by Auqaf department with collaboration of Punjab Archaeology department. These schemes are being carried out in six districts under the current annual development programme of the Auqaf department.
This was stated in a meeting held at Civil Secretariat Lahore with Auqaf Minister, Saeed ul Hassan Shah in the chair, on Saturday. The meeting was informed that these schemes were being carried out in the districts of Lahore, Layyah, Okara, Multan, Jhang and Bahawalpur.
An amount of Rs 2.45 million for 5 schemes in Lahore, Rs 0.40 million for 2 schemes in Bahawalpur, Rs 0.35 million for 2 schemes in Jhang, Rs 0.95 million for 5 schemes in Multan, Rs 0.60 for 2 schemes in Okara, and Rs 0.25 million for the conservation of shrine of Hazrat Rajan Shah in Layyah are being spent, the minister was told. The schemes would be completed in the current fiscal year. The minister directed to ensure quality of work and timely completion of the projects. Various heads and zonal administrators of Auqaf Department attended the meeting.
