Pakistan is facing critical internal and external challenges and the government is trying hard to cope with them and the present leadership has resolved to continue fight against terrorism in the interest of international peace and stability.
Punjab Information Technology Minister Abdul Aleem Khan expressed these views while talking to a seven-member parliamentarians' delegation, headed by Vice President of Nato Parliamentary Assembly Dr Karl A. Lamers, here on Saturday, disclosed an official. Jan Petersen, Norway, Bart van Winsen, Netherlands, Raynell Anbdrey Chuk, Canada, Markus Meckel, UK, Nikolai Kamov, Bulgaria and Steffen Sachs from Germany were also present on the occasion.
Abdul Aleem Khan informed the delegation that substantial development has been made in Punjab in health, education and Information Technology sectors on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. He told them that Punjab Assembly also made record legislation in the public interest and solved a number of problems facing the masses.
The minister said that due to the policies of the present government, living standard of common man has improved. He also conveyed a message of goodwill to the delegation on behalf of Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations.
Dr Karl A. Lamers informed the minister that the delegation was on six days tour to Pakistan to review the present situation. He highlighted the role of Pakistan in the prevailing geo-political scenario. He also discussed matters regarding exchange of experiences in the legislative fields and thanked the chief minister Punjab for the hospitality extended to the delegation during their tour.
Later, Abdul Aleem Khan also hosted a luncheon in honour of the delegation. Nazim Gulberg Town Fraaz Ahmed Chaudhary was also present at that time. Gifts were also exchanged on this occasion.
