Emirates Global Islamic Bank Limited, (EGIBL), recently launched in Pakistan with an initial operation of six branches spread across Karachi and Lahore. The bank formally launched it's Lahore DHA branch at an impressive ceremony held at a local club.
EGIBL is sponsored by the Emirates Financial Holdings, UAE and the Al Rajhi family of Saudi Arabia. Commenting at the occasion, the bank's president and CEO Syed Tariq Husain elaborated on the vision of the bank said: "We wish to become a leading Islamic commercial bank in Pakistan by developing a profitable domestic business capable of being leveraged for international opportunities.
We will reach a wide cross-section in delivering products and services commensurate with the best standards. We hope to be recognised by our corporate values, based on innovation, integrity, dedication and equality keeping in view Shariah principles as laid down by the Holy Quran and Sunnah."
Shiekh Tariq Bin Faisal al Qassimi, member ruling family of Sharjah, is the chairman of FGIBL and Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan (retd), a renowned Islamic scholar and former Chief Justice of Lahore High Court is the Chairman of EGIBL's Shariah committee.-PR
