500 acres land acquired for engineering university

The Punjab government has acquired as many as 500 acres of a suitable land near Sambrial along the main Sialkot-Sambrial-Wazirabad Road for establishment of an international standard engineering university.
District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema told the newsmen here on Friday that it would be a state of the art international standard engineering university to be established by the federal, provincial and district governments, Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan in collaboration with opulent Sialkot business community and Swedish government.
He said that the Swedish government would also provide the complete technical assistance and construction assistance and guidance for this purpose. Sialkot business community especially exporters had provided a special grant of 130,000 Euros from its own city development package on self-help basis for giving a helping hand to the government in this regard.
