The Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has proposed that Sukkur be included in the tax free zone scheme. In a communication to federal ministry for finance, industry and commerce the chamber demanded that Sukkur be included in the tax free zone scheme, on the pattern of three industrial free zones declared in the past ie Larkana, Nawabshah and Ketti Bunder.
The chamber noted that the then chief minister while addressing a public meeting on October 15, 2003 announced that Sukkur shall be declared as special tax free zone. This announcement was warmly hailed and welcomed by the chamber. For the accelerated growth of national economy it is suggested that in order to attract foreign and local investors, notification-declaring Sukkur as special tax free zone with complete necessary facilities to be provided at the doorstep be issued.
