Imran Shaukat, Chairman, Site Association of Industry (SAI) and the members of the communications sub-committee have taken serious note of non-cooperative attitude of the staff of PTCL at Site Exchange.
In the meeting with General Manager Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), Qazi Qamaruddin on March 15, Imran Shaukat had emphasised for an efficient flow of business and industrial transaction a flawless communication infrastructure needs to be provided by the PTCL, which is currently non-existing in Site.
Although the GM has placed his representative at Site Association since March 19 to take the complaints and pass on them to the Site exchange the same day and e-mail copy thereof to Qamaruddin Qazi, so that proper action could be taken on these complaints up to the satisfaction of the customers. No relief has been seen forthcoming. Ahsan Arshad Ayub, Chairman, Communications Sub-Committee said, it seems as though the Site telephone exchange is adamant to bring the business activity in Site area to a complete halt. He also mentioned that Mashkoor Hussain, DE-I, Site telephone exchange, is a very irresponsible officer.
He does not even take the trouble to receive the calls of subscriber either on landline or his personal cell phone, which is highly objectionable. The subscribers of Site area have demanded that if he is not capable of handling the magnitude of business in the Site exchange, than a more suitable candidate be immediately replaced to ease the problems of the subscribers/customers of the area. "Today we have 268 lines out of order in Site compared to 198 on the date GM phones visited to Site Association and promised to reduce the number of complaints."
Shaukat said that if the status of such an important meeting is as referred above, then it is a very disappointing. He urged GM Telephone, Qazi Qamaruddin to take a serious note of lethargic and indifferent attitude prevalent in Site telephone exchange and its adjoining exchanges and ensure that telephones subscribers should not suffer unnecessarily.
It seems that people who presented in the meeting are the worst hot. For example, two lines of out of 8 of one subscriber were out of order on 15th March and today they are suffering because their 6 lines are dead and 2 are working. Same is the case with many others.-PR
