The Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) has decided to hold a peaceful public meeting showing unison with lawyer's recent struggle from Neela Gunbad to Lahore High Court premises on March 26. The decision to this effect, was revealed by Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, head of ARD Punjab after a meeting of the alliance here on Saturday.
Qureshi stated they totally intend to keep their protest peaceful, however, administration would not be approached on the matter, he added. The ARD head, who, is also head of PPPP Punjab said they had given instructions to hold similar protests throughout the province at head quarter level.
Speaking about joining of Mutehida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) in the protest on March 26 he said they had no objection to that. Qureshi denied that they had given a call for shutter down and wheel jam strike. He said on beginning of consultation with judiciary on constitutional matters does not suggest termination of boycott, he added.
