City District Government of Rawalpindi (CDGR) has announced on Tuesday, March 27 as public holiday City District Nazim Javed Akhlas on Saturday told reporters during his visit to Liaquat Bagh that President Pervez Musharraf would lay foundation stone of Rs 16 billion Expressway to be constructed on Nullah Leh.
He would also announce the multi-billion fly-over-project from The Mall to Faizabad, the Nazim said. Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Provincial Minister for Local Bodies Muhammad Basharat Raja and other high ups visited Liaquat Bagh to supervise preparations being made for March 27 public meeting to be addressed by the President.
Raja Ikhlas said no city road would be blocked on the day and the Murree road and surrounding roads would remain open. Brigadier Muhammad Ayub of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) briefed the ministers about the preparations made for the public meeting.
