The police martyrs day was observed here with zeal and solemnity. To pay the tribute and solidarity with the martyrs of the police, a ceremony was held at the district police-lines. Sheikhupura DIG Muhammad Anwar Virk was the chief guest while DCO Saeed Akhtar Ansari, Additional District and Sessions Judge Kasur, Rao Abdul Jabbar Khan.
DPO Kasur Tariq Abbas Qureshi, Additional SP Faisal Ali Raja, journalists, politicians and other people attended the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, DIG Anwar Virk said the policemen of Pakistan were proud as they had sacrificed their lives during fighting with the internal enemies of the country. He stressed the police officials to show their solidarity and brotherhood with the families of the police martyrs.
DPO Tariq Abbas Qureshi briefed about the Jawans of the district police who had sacrificed their lives while performing their duties. DCO Saeed Akhtar Ansari while paying the tributes to martyrs of the police department said, "They sacrificed themselves to clean the society from evils". Later, DIG, DCO and the DPO distributed the cash prizes among the families of the martyrs.
