Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Syed Safwan Ullah will inaugurate a workshop on "Micro Finance: The Poverty Reduction, Magic, Products, Process" on Monday in Islamabad. According to a press release issued here on Saturday, Ozair A Hanfi, President and CEO, Pak Oman Microfinance Bank Limited has been invited to deliver keynote address.
The workshop has been organised by the Institute of Bankers Pakistan (IBP) in view of the importance of microfinance in the economic growth and poverty alleviation in the world. Microfinance has been one of the neglected areas in the past in the country but more than 70 percent of the urban population is now engaged in micro and small enterprises while many potential entrepreneurs await opportunities in this sector.-PR
