A group of Philippine feedmillers and hog and poultry farmers bought 33,000 tonnes of Chinese feed wheat for May/June shipment, traders said on Monday. The traders, who asked not to be identified, said the group bought the commodity from agribusiness company Bunge Ltd at $222.50 per tonne, including cost and freight (C&F), at a tender last Thursday.
RICE The National Food Authority, the rice importing arm of the Philippine government, plans to buy an additional 145,000 tonnes of rice from suppliers who won contracts at its February 28 tender, a senior official said on Monday. "The NFA council has approved a re-order equivalent to 25 percent of the 580,000 tonnes that we bought in the last bidding," NFA Deputy Administrator Ludovico Jarina told Reuters by phone.
