Jamaat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnah Pakistan Karachi has demanded of the government to beef up security arrangements for the main rally and congregation at the Nishtar Park Karachi on the eve of 12 Rabi-ul-Awal.
Addressing a press conference at his office, Amir Jamaat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnah Pakistan Karachi Maulana Syed Shah Turabul-Haq Qadri reminded that more than 60 religious scholars had lost their precious lives in the Nishtar Park blast last year that took place only due to ineffective security measures on the part of government.
After the incident, he said, Prime Minister and President had ordered a probe and the masses were hoping that culprits of Nishtar Park carnage would soon be exposed, but the government had yet to arrest a single person even after passage of a year. Which was like rubbing slat into wounds of the family members, friends and relatives of martyred scholars. He termed non-arrest of the culprits a blatant failure of ruler.
He said his party had obtained NOCs regarding taking out rallies from various towns, which would join the main procession at MA Jinnah road and march towards Nishtar Park.
Syed Shah Turab-ul-Haq Qadri claimed that people would foil all conspiracies against Muslims. He demanded of the government to announce a public holiday on March 31 or April 02, 2007 as to facilitate Karachiites to celebrate the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace be upon him). He also demanded publication of special supplements of the Shuhada-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi in all print media besides ensuring live coverage of Nishtar Park congregation on the 12 Rabi-ul-Awal.
He demanded of the government to beef up security measures in Karachi as the country had already been facing a crisis, and it could not bear further aggravating of situation.
