Preparations for the launch of Expo Pakistan 2007, scheduled from March 29 to April 1 at the Karachi Expo Centre, are under way to make the event a truly one stop sourcing event for foreign buyers and overall a resounding success from the exhibitors' point of view.
The theme for this years' event is "Experience the colours of Pakistan." As an event, Expo Pakistan 2007 is expected to be the biggest business event, being organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (formerly the Export Promotion Bureau).
Supported by National Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan State Oil, State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited and Pakistan International Airlines as lead platinum sponsors, and Sammi Daewoo as silver sponsor, the event has special area demarcated for women entrepreneurs. So far, Expo Pakistan 2007 has received confirmation from international buyers and trade visitors from around 70 countries.
Some of the leading names that are setting up stalls at the Expo Centre include Siemens, Daikin, Pepsi, Maaza, Chenab Group, Al-Abid Textiles, MTECH, Del Nash, Younus Textile, MSC, Afroze Textile, Sajid Textile, Silver Textile, M. Yahya Bari, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Sidaat Hyder, Pakistan Ready-made Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Prgmea), Pacific Pharma, Indus Pharma, Ghausia Group, Mundia Exports, Dewan Textile and Pak Denim.
